Bulgur wheat are wheat kernels that have been steamed, dried and crushed. Bulgur has a tender, chewy texture, and is light brown in color. Although it is often confused with cracked wheat, bulgur wheat is processed differently.
Preparation and Cooking Suggestions
Bring water or broth to a boil. Add bulgar. Return to boil, cover, reduce heat and cook on low for 15 minutes, or until tender. Remove from heat, fluff with fork, cover and let stand for 8 minutes.
